Roswell appears in NO girls state bracket in either the 1969-70 or the 1970-71 GHSA volume. Every girls class in both books was read. That bounds the school's own claim that a coach took girls teams to two state tournaments in the early 1970s: whatever those appearances were, they were not those two years.
How the court got the name J. Tom Zachary is still unanswered. He was principal 1989 to 1998 and the court carries his name; no source says who named it or when.
The Roswell Neighbor is listed in NewsBank, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is digitized and available through Fulton County Library. These sources still need to be searched and assembled season by season. The September 15 fact-check corrected the earlier claim that no Roswell paper was digitized.
Everything recovered from newspapers came from OPPONENTS' hometown papers rather than Roswell's own. The Forsyth County News is the deep vein, and it is missing all of January to mid March 1971, which is exactly the championship season, plus 1975 and 1976 entirely.
The Roswell Historical Society's catalogue returns nothing for basketball, Mimosan or Hornets. Its newspaper holdings stop in the 1960s.
The e-yearbook index lists Roswell Mimosan volumes for 1981 and 1983, with page images behind a subscription. The Fulton County Schools Archives makes its digital yearbook collection available on request; its public Roswell entries include 1985, 1986 and 1987. The earliest volume held and reproduction permissions still need confirmation.
The Hall of Fame publishes exact career point totals going back to 1965. Those cannot come from newspapers, so somebody worked from scorebooks. The school names the scorekeeper: Carole Williams kept the books for both programs from 1979 to 2010, over 1300 games.
A 1977 summer league story implying a Roswell title run the previous year is REFUTED by the GHSA brackets, which show no Roswell state appearance in 1976 at all.
